Mahatma gandhi

 Mahatma Gandhi was born on 2nd October.1869 at porebandar in Gujarat.  his full name was Mohandas karam chand Gandhi.he got his primary education at Rajkot.he was married at the age of thirteen with kasturaba.he was truthful from his childhood. After passing matric examination he was sent to England for passing l.l.b. examination.after returning from England he started his career as a lawyer at Bombay.he want to south Africa to plead a case.there he was disgraced.he started Satyagraha there and won the first battle. After staying for several years in Africa gandhiji returned of India.he jumped into the freedom struggle.he was soon the most  respected leader of the indai.he always led the struggle on non violent line.he led so many Satyagrahas and was sent to jail several times.in1942 he started'quick India movement'under his able leadership our century got freedom on august 15.1947.he was killed by nathuram godse on 30th January 1948. Gandhiji's character and personality had a universal appeal.he influence all who came into contact with him. The secret of his influence lay in his extremely simple and pious way of life.he lived like a yogi,his wants being very few. His dress was a simple loincloth; his house,a poor cottage; his food a handful of dates,cup of orange juice and a little goat's milk.thus,he lived like the humblest and poorest.no wonder,poeple called him mahatma.secondly,gandhiji's life was devoted to truth and non-violence.he laid down his life for the sake of truth and thus attained the position of a saint and Martyr.gandhiji's devotion to was fearless,but his was full of love towards his fellow beings.
